ACTEWAGL Royal Canberra Show – Fri 22nd – Sun 24th Feb
It’s the most magical time of year… the ACTEWAGL Royal Canberra Show is back and more local than ever! This weekend, Exhibition Park (Flemington Rd, Mitchell) will be jam-packed with fun rides, local stalls, food vendors, drink suppliers, musicians, dancers, friendly animals and loads more entertainment! If you have pre-purchased your ticket, return Canberra Bus transport to the show is included! Balance & Brekkie on the Foreshore – Sat 23rd Feb
Yoga, breakfast and coffee sounds like an ideal start to the weekend to us! Eighty8 Fitness and Remedy Café on the Foreshore are combining the weekend essentials of food and coffee with a relaxing yoga session! No matter what level of experience you have, balance it out with them in the beautiful surrounds of Lake Burley Griffin. You’ll be rewarded for your efforts with a delicious breakfast grazing table including fresh fruits, muesli and yoghurt, avo toast and more, and coffee and tea to your liking! Yoga will take place from 8:30- 9:15am at Bowen Park (Bowen Drive, Barton), followed by breakfast at the close-by venue of Remedy on the Foreshore at 9:30am- 10:30am. Gin Long Lunch at Chifley’s Bar & Grill – Sat 23rd Feb
Calling all gin lovers! Chifley’s is back for yet another Gin Long Lunch after the last received such high demand! Celebrate with friends over a unique 4 course, gin infused long lunch hosted by Tim Reardon from the Canberra Distillery in the picturesque courtyard at Hotel Kurrajong Canberra. You’ll be greeted with a gin themed cocktail on arrival, live music by local musician Anna McCormack and share style grazing platters to begin. Each course will be perfectly matched with local gins from the Canberra Distillery to get your taste buds tingling. The event will run from 12 – 3pm. Tickets are $125 per person and are limited! Lantern Festival – Sat 23rd Feb
A traditional Chinese Festival will be held at the Beijing Chinese Garden to celebrate Chinese New Year. From 6.15 – 8.30pm there will be a Lion Dance, music and other entertainment, a homemade lantern competition and a lantern parade. Bring your own picnic and enjoy the colour and spectacle in the Beijing Garden. This is a free event so bring along the family! Canberra Memory Walk & Jog – Sun 24th Feb
Cardio for a cause! Dementia Australia is excited to kick-start the 2019 Memory Walk & Jog season in the nation’s capital! The walk will be returning to the foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin at a brand new starting point on Barrine Drive, Canberra. Choose from 2km, 5km or 10km and walk, jog or run to support people living with dementia, their families and carers.
