2020 ROYAL CANBERRA SHOW, EPIC, MITCHELL. 28 FEBRUARY – 1 MARCH.
The Royal Canberra Show is back with a bang! For many Canberrans it is considered one of the ACT’s most anticipated events and is the territory’s largest all-ages event. Showbags for the kids (and some adults) include Avengers, Hello Kitty, Cadbury’s Favourites, Los Angeles Lakers, and even AC/DC.
Bask in the company of the various livestock and agricultural competitions – especially the Australian lowline; the 300 kg beasts are admirable for their stocky and docile temperament. Be magnetised by the Showtime FMX motocross motorcyclists as they risk life and limb for the chance to win the Golden Helmet! The Saturday night annual fireworks are sure to entice the entire family.
The festivities commence 8:30am – 4pm daily. Tickets can be purchased HERE
FIRE FIGHT FINAL NIGHT – WIRES FUNDRAISER EXHIBITION, NISHI GALLERY. FRIDAY 28 FEBRUARY.
A fundraising show with proceeds going to WIRES Wildlife Fund, all while commemorating the artists who have displayed their hard-earned works during the exhibition’s run. Take in the atmosphere with a beverage or even place a bid on some of the featured artwork. This is the perfect swansong to the SOLD OUT ‘Fire Fight – NSW RFS Fundraiser’ and all that we have overcome as Australians in the last handful of months. The fundraiser begins at 6pm – 10pm.
CALL FOR EOI – BETWEEN THE LINES, GORMAN ARTS CENTRE. FRIDAY 28 FEBRUARY.
Between the Lines is a 12-month long book discussion group for active writers and lovers of all things literature. A recognised literary expert will lead participants through a series of bi-monthly conversations and activities focusing on published books. What differs this from your average Sunday book group is the theme of discussing “authorial technique, achievement and context within the literature” – rather than what is subjectively good and bad, so to speak. This begins at 8am – 4pm.
Tickets may be bought HERE
GHOST TOUR OF CANBERRA’S MOST HAUNTED BUILDING, NATIONAL FILM & SOUND ARCHIVE OF AUSTRALIA. FRIDAY 28 FEBRUARY.

A perfect opportunity to give yourself goosebumps and shiver in front of strangers. This commences 9pm – 11:15pm.
This is a 16+ event. Tickets may be purchased HERE
