Canberra Centre

Lunar New Year celebrations are in full swing at Canberra Centre. With vibrant cultural activities and a range of family-friendly experiences, celebrate the Year of the Snake in the centre. For free family fun, enjoy the Snakes and Slides Zone – a life-size twist on the classic where you can roll oversized dice and slide to victory.  You can also get hands-on at the Craft Zone, where you can create festive paper fans, decorate lanterns, and craft intricate origami symbols. To learn more about your Chinese Zodiac sign, visit the Wishing Tree, a stunning visual experience with vibrant red leaves, festive lanterns and twinkling lights. On Wednesday 29 January at 3pm, visitors can also experience the exhilarating Lion Dance performance roaming through the Centre, a highlight of the Lunar New Year celebrations.

Hyatt Hotel

Welcome the Year of the Snake with Hyatt Hotel Canberra. To celebrate the Lunar New Year, enjoy a vibrant evening at the Promenade Café from 29 January to 1 February, including a Seafood Buffet, authentic Asian cuisine and a live lion dance performance by the Prosperous Mountain Lion Dance troupe.

Canberra Lunar New Year Festival

The annual Canberra Lunar New Year Festival is back on Saturday 1 February in Dickson. Honouring the Year of the Snake, Woolley Street will come alive with a free street party that will include exciting performances and flavoursome food. Each activity will honour the diverse cultures that celebrate the Lunar New Year, sharing the knowledge and wisdom of traditions spanning thousands of years. Performances and activities include dragon and lion dance, Chinese classical dance, kung fu demonstrations, face painting, calligraphy and more! Meanwhile, if it’s food you’re after restaurants such as Dickson Asian Noodle house, Pho @ Dickson and Au Lac Vegan Cuisine will be operating stalls with plenty of delicious Asian options.
